AN ADVENTUROUS BOY.

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 13. A boy, aged thirteen, charged with having stolon a bicycle at Palmerston North, was remanded till Friday, pending enquiries in Palmerston and Wellington. The boy stated that some weeks ago he ran away from his stepfather and stepmother 'in Wellington, got to Nelson on a boat, was sent hack to Wellington by the police, wandered about for a day or two, and then travelled to Palmerston in a truck on a goou* train. He saw a boy leave a bicych* outside a Palmerston picture .show, took the machine, rode to Martoru and there gave himself and the bicycle a free ride on a goods train. By ridjng and occasionally stealing: rifles at the Government expense, he got to Auckland.
