At the British Associated meeting, Dr. Fournier d'Albe exhibited a reading optophone which enables the blind to read ordinary type by sound, provided by large-sized print on gelatine as other transparent material. The doctor hopes soon to enable the blind to read all letterpress* printed in black on ordinary paper.
