.CARNIVAL ON TUESDAY NEXT. ■Skating continues its merry course daily at the Druids'. Hall. 'The attendances have kept up well, and with another touch of winter weather upon us the popularity of this magnificent indoor pastime should be further demonstrated in the near future, or from now onwards. Those who delight in carnivals have something to look for-, ward to on Tuesday evening next, when n Fancy Dress. Poster and Negr o Garnival will be held. This will bo the second carnival of the season, an<! if tho huge success of the initial gathering may be taken as a criterion, then thoso who attend on Tuesday night; whether they be skaters or not, are assured of a most enio.va-ble time. Handsome prizes are being offered, and tho allocation of these will again be left in tho hands of Press representatives to decide. .
The annual meeting of tho V.M.C A Board of Directors will be held in the Borough Council Chambers on Monday evening next, the 28th inst. The meeting is open to ,any of the public who desire to attend as auditors."
Wanganui Orphanage subscribers are kindly asked to be present at the animal meeting to be held at St. Paul's Classroom on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Those desirous of becoming subscribing members are cordially invited.
