FORMED

Tho organisation of the National Reserve League in the Auckland Military District has been entrusted by Genenil Godley to Colonel Allan Bell, who (Served in tho Matabele and Boer "Wars,- and was laLely in the command of the Waikato Mounted Regiment. Colonel Bell will shortly set up a committee of military officers to formulate plans governing the organisation. The object of tho movement is to enrol men who have served in any military, and naval forces of the Crown, who, being age for training in tho Territorials and under no obligation for further service, aro willing to come forward for service in the event, of a national emergency, Tho. duties of tho national reserve will be, on a national emergency, to form « combatant unit for service in tho field, to carry out comb&t£.nt duty in garrison nr other fix»;d positions, or perform ad ministration work.
