NEW PLYMOUTH, June 25. When Captain Halsey was here last week ho turned the tap admitting tho crude oil into tho Taranaki Oil Welb, -Limited's new refinery. There wero still finishing touches* requiring to be mado to oho works, but the directors now propose to have tho formal opening on July 21st. and to invite Ministers and members of Parliament to attend the inatiguration of the new industry.
