P.S.A. MEN'S BROTHERHOOD.
SIGNS OF THE TIMES
There was again an excellent attendance last Sunday afternoon. Through indisposition Pastor H E. Edridge was unable to be present and his place was taken at short notice by Mr R. B. Uorsiey, President of the branch, who delivered his second inspiring address on "Vas Signs of the Times." The speaker eominciiced by giving a" short resume of his previous address for the benefit of those who had not been present on that occasion. Speaking ol the seizure of Tripoli by Italy, he slated that our hold upon Egypt was icndered thereby more imperative than ever, and will fore» England to take tho next step, viz., annexation of Egypt. A free passage through Palestine iand the Euphrates Valley is an essential to our noad in India. Woro this region, in the possession of a hofililepower, it would imperil our sway in ihe Indian Peninsula; hence on the dissolution of Turkey political necessities will force us into ihe land which is our birthright, as per the promise made by God to Abraham's seed, and he thought tile day was not far distant. The land promised included all the territory be^ tw<x\n the Nile and the Euphrates, oxteuuing on the >one fiido as far south as the Victoria- Nyanza, and ou the other to the Persian Gu*f, end it was a .singular fact that the English were to-day in possession of a considerable portion of it, and the cabled new.; of the past few months indicated that the remainder would soon bo in the possession of tho saino Power. Our main, reason of vho purpose of the Almighty in giving our nation such . great wealth, power raid widespread dominion was that we might protect the Jews when wo had i?lar:ted them there-, un<\ that we might holt! the land in possession until ''Ho, the Son of Clod" returned to reign, <md Jerusalem became the metropolis of the world. Here, also, they would probably find tlio incentive "that"would culminate in the dread "Armageddon." The address was intensely interesting, and w.as followed by the large audience with the closest attention.
. 'Iho P.S-.A. Orchosirc (conductor "Bro. T. Jones) mas again to tho fore. P,ro. Rc,<r Adonis played a tino-mfone solo, "Shubert's Serenade." with much acceptance, while Bm. Wm. Pepper, J.P., abiy presided as chairman.
