The Supreme Court criminal sessiqn opened this morning before Judge ■Cooper. The Calendar oomprises 24 cbarg€s, including an indictment of murder against Sarah E-lizt^ Skeellern, and a similar charge against the lad Edward Augustus Sheehan.
At the opening of the criminal sessions of the Supreme Court to-day, Justico Cooper, in his address to the grand jury, said that ; while the numbe. of chai'ges they would have to investigate;: was ■. not a ooye the average:—the > number in the district indeed wa.s slightly 'below it—the calendar for the present quarterly sitting consisted of •many more serious crimes than it was .usually .the duty of a.'grand jury to ■ investigate. .Practically all the more serious crimes known to the law were on the 'listV; There were charges of muitder, manslaughter, abortion, indecent assault, incest, theft from the _ person, breaking and entering, and "other: charges, of a more or less serious decree; He .regretted that ia this district there" should be so much serious criiiio 'to'be dealt;ivith. -.At the t)reAsen|i fittings, altogether there were 24 ■•■eßttjfjajes.'on the. list.
