VALUABLE CHEESE SHIPMENT.
A MONTH'S OUTPUT
OVER £70,000 WORTH
(From our Travelling Reporter.) PATEA. Anri! 28. The West Coast Refrigerating Company has been maintaining a very steady output, and during the past four weeks about £70,000 worth of cheese lias been sent over the bar to Wellington, for transhipment, to Home markets. Of this amount, about £16,000 worth has been sent to the West of England. - During the week just ended 4700 capes were forwarded to Wellington, ana this week's shipments from South Taranaki to England per tho Rotorua will consist of 4000 cases of cheese and 300 boxes of butter, approximating in value close on £17,000. Of course, supplies to the factories arc now decreasing very rapidly, but the dairying season ho.s been ,a •r'eoojrd one. from whichever point .it is viewed. One has only to take a-quarter to .show the tremendous dairy development in South Taranaki, the Customs -returns showing that during the January-March quarter cheese to the value of £283,----950, and butter valued .at £17,000, was s&nt away overseas —iust on the ve.rgo of £307,000.
