A SUCCESSFUL YEAR'S WORK.

AUCKLAND, April 28. Th© annual meeting of the Taupin Ooal Coy. was held this afternoon, Mr E. W. Allison (chairman of directors), presiding. The balance-sheet for the twelve months ended 31st March showed a net profit of £11,634 7s 7d. The halanoo brought forward from last year was £3,979 17s 6d, making a total of £15,614 5s Id. An interim dividend ot 9d per share, amquntin^Jbo JE4537'-10s, haying already been ipaid .in October, the balance .of £11,076 los Id remained available,- which at was recommended should be appropriated, as follows '■:—> £6050 to'-a payment of a dividend ol 9d per share and a bonus of 3d per. share, £2000 to be carried to the re serve fund, and a balance of £3026 15s Id Ia bo carried forward to the new account." ~\ />.■ ■..',' .;v-.-v. Mr Allison, in moving the adoptioTi of the reipoirt and balance-sheet, ©pngratul ated the shareholders upon the satisfactory results of last years operations, which after writing off allowance iov depreciation, show a net profit of £11,634 7s 7d. Contrasted with, the prer vious year, there was a falling off of profits amounting to £2,549 6s 4d, mtiinly lacoounted for by the strike which took place last October.
