WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS.

WELLINGTON, April 2&. At the annual meeting of the N.Z Competitions Society, a profit was x*ported of £42 l&j 5d on the year's working. His Excellency the Governor was elected Patron, subject to his consent, .and Mr T. M. Wilford president. Chairman FLavell mentioned' that the professional musicians in Wellington seemed rinclined to throw cold water on the competitions while in Auckland professionals had.resuscitated the com petitions society. H& hoped Wellington professionals would reconsider then attitude. Reference was also made to the- Wellington City Council's slowness in contributing and the hope was expressed that assistance would be given this year.
