GARDEN FETE.
The .Cosmopolitan Club agreeably surprised the committee with a, donation of three guineas. Mr. J. A. Neame has given half a sovereign, and Mr. H. D. Bates p. sovereign twards the funds. They all have our thanks for their thoughtful kindness.
The Druids will dress in full regalia and join in the Grand Parade to the Fete. ■
The grotesque heads and animals are rehearsing hard for their funny parts. They will be the funniest collection of people that ever visited Wanganui. The gnome or goblin represents a spirit from tho inner parts of the earth,' and is a full, sized man three feet high— ■weird and knowing. The elephant is a beautiful animal—little boys and girls should take- peanuts for him on New Tcoar's Day. There will be huge, ugly heads with funny face, funny heads, with ugly faces—tall giants, dwarfs', apes, wild men, Father'"Christmas, Old rsick, and other celebrities too numerous to mentio'h.
# The Pester March will ho a picture in. itself—all leading firms will be represented. The prize for the best poster is two golden sovereigns"—well worth winning. The advertisement will bo tho finest an the land—better than the trams. Every business in Wanganui should use the Poster March for advertising. Thousands will see the posters.
The Red Indian attack on the prairie caravan has over 100 actors. Tho mounted military dressed as Red Indians in full war paint. It will be exciting from start to. finish—real Indian life in the Wild West—daring acts that will make ono's hail1 stand en end. _ The gay balloons going up every eight minutes will be good ■.amusement. A trip to Sydney and Melbourne, with, a months' frqe board, is given away free with one of the shilling admission* tickets. Get a ticket before Becember 31st.
