Judging in the Art and Fancy Needlework Section and the Public Schools Division of the Palmerston .North Show took place yesterday. Exhibitors in the Wanganui district received their share of prizes. Included in the list, we notice the following:— Mrs. H. Johnson secured a first prize "for her exhibit of six samples of fancy work. In the cushion class, Miss J. Crabfy (Feilding) was first, Miss K. Henderson (Marton) 2, and Miss C. Stewart (Halcombe) v.h.c. Shaded embroidery, in/silk. —Mrs. JR. C. MaeFarlane (Wanganui) 1, Miss M. Henderson (Mai-ton) 3, Mrs. H. Johnson (Wanganui) v.h.c. Mrs. A. Hogan (Wanganui) se-cured a second for an afternoon tea cloth. v Table centre. —Miss M. C. Beaumont (Wanganui) 1, Mrs. H. Hansen (Wanganui) 2, Miss T. Muir (Waverley) v.h.c. In eyelet hola embroidery, fine, Miss A. Bennett (Marton) secured second prize, Miss E. Mason (Wanganui) obtained a .second for drawn thread work (fine). A similar award fell to Mrs. E. Carr (Feilding) for cotton crochet. Mrs. M. Donaldson (Feildins) secured a third nrizo for infant's woollen jacket (crochet), and a second prize for infant's woollen petticoat (crochet). Mrs. L. Withers obtained a third prize for infants' woollen pe-tticoiTr (knitted), and Mrs. F. Hooker (Feilding) third prize for hand-knitted socks. In tho Public Schools Division, L. Pemberton (Rantjiwahia) received a merit, card for freehand drawing: for children between the a^es of 10 and 12: while in this class Ethel McTntyre (Rangiwahia) and William Powell (Marton) wgvq commended. For freehnnd drawing, pupils 12 to VI, Jason Nitschki (Marton) received a card of morit. For mapping. Walter McTntyre. (Rangiwahia) received a ca>d of nWit. J. Thomson (Tiritea) received two certificates of commendation for brush work, and W. Kibblewhits (Tiritea) a card of .merit for tho same.
