MOTOR DRIVEN PLOUGHS.

NEW PLANTS FOR RANGITIKEI

ARRIVAL AT MARTON

(By Our Travelling Reporter.)

MARTON, October 29

Something new and novel in agricultural implement importations, so far as. this country is concerned, has just been introduced by Messrs. McLean, of Turakina, and Beard, of Marton, in the shape of two motor ten-furrow ploughs. Tho olant somewhat resembles a traction engine, and a number of men were engae'ed.'at Marton Junction to-day putting the various parts together. Tho working; of these ploughs and tho results will bo watched with considerable interest, particularly if ihe soil to b© operated on is deep and moist. Some of the "amateur" exports, who spent a. good deal of time to-day watching the piecing of the machinery parts, contend that these petrol-dnvrn plough's cannot possibly succeed in the undulating country such as they will be put to. Judgment, however, 'must be reserved until tho plants have been commissioned. Tho owners certainly deserve every success for their great enterprise.
