Tho argument upon an interesting point in criminal law. was commenced before the CpuTt of Appeal this afternoon, in the presence" of the Chief Justice, Justices Derinistori, Edwards^ and Chapman. Thecase concerned was Ithe trial at Gisboi-nevof Francis Hill, creamer, on four counts of stealing or dishonestly obtaining money from one Wm. Burgess. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty on three counts, but could not agree on the fourth:. Justice Chapman reserved for the Court of Appeal's decision the question of whether it was necessary to proceed with tho fourth count, or to accept the jury's finding on the three other counts, this being practically a complete verdict.
