Evidence at the inquest on James Gordon, found dead on tho road near Waikare, showed that the deceased and his mate drank a bottle and a half of whisky neat in two hours. A verdict was returned that death was due to suffocation through falling face downwards in the mud, whilst in a state of helpless intoxication.
