(Per Press" Association.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 23. A Huntly correspondent telegraphs r mis morning Messrs Kennedy and Peter • * raser (ex-president of the Labour Union, from Waihi), visited Huntly and were received with three rousing cheers from men about the tin ion office Mr 1< raser stated to a pressman that theraine owners at Waihi were beaten and showed a tabulated statement of the men employed there. He asserted that only eleven competent miners were employed.
Despite the union's request that the men should not take outside employment assertions are made that several members of the union are working . The question of strike pay is agitating many of the men, who" are Wii>iung to recogni.se the likelihood of a long struggle. Action is still proceeding v. «o«wo»» tion with the new union. A Huntly correspondent telegraphs that the following notice was post«d on the office of the Waikato Coal Miners' Union to-day: "JR. Semple (organiser), ■and P. C. Webb (president of the Federation) will arrive at Huntly on Friday. This notice has tended "to steady the more demonstrative of the men. "
