VIENNA, Oct. 22. The death sentence on Jukics, who shot Hervoic of Agram last August, has been commuted to imprisonment for life.

Jukics was sentenced to death in August for the murder of Hervoic. Cuvay, a Royal Commissioner in Croatia, was motoring with Hervoic, chief of the Education Department in Agram, when Jukics, a Bosnian student, fired a revolver point blank. The bullet missed Cuvay but fatally wounded Hervoic. Jukics fled, but was captured after killing one policeman and wounding another.
