WANGANUI BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY

The following letter, sent by the president of the- above society to Mr Win. Gibson, speaks for itself: —

Dear Mr Gibson. —I am instructed by the executive of the society to approach you on the question of the society's annual Fete, and to solicit your valuable assistance, as on each previous occasion.

Without the. assistance of your proved organising ability, tho executive fear that tho society will be greatly handicapped. Practically the only funds ■at tho disposal of the society have been those raised per medium of the annual Fetes —each one of which has been carried out under your organisation and management. To say that every member of tho society feels deeply,-grateful to you is, I can assure you, no mere expression of words. In fact, the whole town and suburbs are indebted,to you and all those ladies and gentlemen who in the wast so ably seconded your efforts. From the two Fetes already held, a net sum of approximately £1000 was raised. This in" itself spoke for the good management and interest taken in tho, work of Iho society by tho public. I will bo glad to know that you -will undertake another Fete for Wanganui. —Yours faithfully, A. HATRICK, President.
