CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor,
Sir, —There may still be alive some Wanganui residents who remember Major Dune's two Singalese boys. If so, tho attached paragraph will prove of interest, as it refers to one of them, Eaisn Christian, so he always spelled his name. I am, yours, etc.,
W. A. HARDING

The Castlepoint correspondent of the "Wairarapa Daily Times" writes: —On Tuesday mornin, Eastin Christian went to the reef with the intention of catching crayfish, and has not been seen since. His "pot" had evidently been thrown out, as it was found in the evening at the usual place for crayfishing, and it sems certain that ho has fallen off the reef and been drowned. Ho has been living in, this district.for about 35 years. For a number of years he carried the mail from Castlepoint to Porangahau.
