All old firemen will regret to learn of the death of an old eomratlo in exforeman Robert Sharpe, of .the Wanganui Fire Brigade, who passed to hislong rest on Wednesday. Deceased was in the early history of the brigade one of its most active and energetic members, and some years since, after receiving the Association's gold star for 25 years' service, resigned from active membership, although still residing at the Keith Street Tire Brigade station, of which he has been keeper .and custodian for over 30 syears. "Bob,"- as ho was always .known by Ms friends, was an ideal fireman.. KTe did yeoman service for the brigade, and was held in the highest esteem".' : Much sympathy is expresed for his widow and family in their bereavement. The Fire Brigade will do all honour to. their old comrade at the funeral'ceremonies, which will take placo. on Saturday, at 2.30 p.m. As is usual on the occasion of the funeral of a fireman^ the fire bell will be tolled for o^e hour.
