SALE OF WORK.

A highly, satisfactory sale of work was held on December 7th in the Hall, Fordel!, in aid of - tho funds of the Presbyterian The- sale was opened'at 2.30 ~p".in."by Mrs J. D. McKenzie, Wanganui, who congratulated tho Ladies' Guild upon their splendid and artistic display of goods suitable to any order, and who expresseu the hope that a, very satisfactory turnover would be realised. . Though tho elections attracted the interest of a great many, a" goodly number came from near and far, and the most sanguine hopes were realised. Great praise is due to the ladies for their self-denial and arduous labour, and to the many willing hands at work, which made the function the success it was. Over £60 was realised. The following were the stalls and their attendants: Plain, Mesdames Burr, J. and *D. McGregor; fancy, Mrs Anderson and Miss Cowie; toy, Miss Burr; handkerchiefs, MissE. Cowie; sweets, Misses MeConachie; produce, Mesdames Blyth and A. Budge; tea, Mesdames Cowie, Campbell, Paul, Musses M. Cowie, Coomber, Ciochetto and Pe'nnefather; salads. Misses Sutherland ; competitions, Mrs Sharpe, Misses R.oss.'and C. McConachiej flowers, Miss Olive Barnes. Mrs C. Banks made an efficient;custodian of tho art gallery.
