On Wednesday the 14th inst. I held a clearing .stile at Riverlea, on account of Mr A. McEwan, when there was a good attendance • There was keen competition for the stock, which was mostly young, and good prices were realised. Weaners, made 30s 6d, springing heifers ;G5 tot £5 17s 6cl, in calf heifers £4 Is to £4r.>s.6d, dairy cows £5 2s 6d to £9 17s 6d, store cows £2 15s, pon £6, mare £9, trap horse £13, 3-year draught colt £30 ss, plow £6, sundries sold at usual-rates..
At Midhursb on Thursday, the 10th inst., I held a-sale 011 account of Mr A. G. Fisher. There was a large number in attendance, and any of the stock showing quality and in forward condition (especially the Jerseys) were keenly competed ;sfor. - Early calvers sold for £7 10s to £10 15s, later- do. £5 ; 10s to £7, very late and empty £<2 to £4 15s, Jersey heifer calved £6 15s, weaners 375, pedigree Jersey bull 20^ guineas, half-draught geldings £18.10s, to £24 • harness" horses £8 15s to £10 10s, breeding .sows £2 15s to £4, drill £29, mower .£9, discs £6, roller £09, hayfake £5 15s, ■ timber pack £6 10s, chain harrows £3, '2 stacks of oaten hay realised £'10 each, and all sundries sold well.
On Monday I held a clearing sale, on the Lower Pal met" Road on account of Mr V. A. Stapleton, when there was a fiiir attendance The stock was well competed for, and the dairy cows, close up, were in good demand. Early calvers made £7- 5s to £12. later £s'los to £'7. very late £3 10s to £5, weaners £2 <ss, these were good Jersey strain : era do Jersey bull £2 2s, bay gelding £13 ss, hack £'10, wearier pigs £7, stores l"s to 19s, sows £2 ss, cans 23s ploy £7, milk waggon £32, 72 shares in the Kaupokonui Dairy Factory brought £21, and sundries sold well.
At Rahotu on Tuesday there was a fair yarding with i\ good attendance ol' btiyevs. Young stock was in good -demand, and at prices slightly in advance of late market rates. Wean or heifers made £i 2 Wss to ,^2 10s, wcanc-/1 steers 38s (3d to £2 4s, mixed weanors 89s, do. small 19s to £2 2s, store cows £2 12s fid to £3 4s, forward cows £3 14s to £-1 17s. 18-inos. heifers ,C 2 13? to £3 Bs, springing heifers £5, bulls £4 15s. A quantity of furniture sold on account of Mr Joss. 1 Phillips realised satisfactory prices.
