The Mitaongaonga Road Board "proposes to wait as a deputation on the Efaukatea Road Board at its next meeting to discuss the question of merging the two Road Districts.

A North Island Utility Poultry Association was formed at Palmerston North on Wednesday evening. Messrs. G. Finn, D. Inman and Tod A. Mumby were appointed a committee to further the movement and report later. The meeting was enthusiastic.

Brown, poultry expert, who judged the poultry at the National Dairy Show at Palmcrston North, states that the utility men competing in the poultry section at the show were disappointed at the results. They understood the birds were to be judged purely on utility standards, but as tlio show was held under the license of-the North Island Association the birds were judged on the English standard. Consequently utility birds were passed over.

The members of the Education Board were supplied with copies of the Wanganui Coronation Souvenir last evening. The chairman, Mr. F. T. Piram, said ho thought it was such a creditable publication that the Board should recognise how well the work had been done—(hear, hear)—and how suitable it was for the Board's purpose. It had exceeded all expectations, and the proprietors of the "Chronicle" deserved to be congratulated on the production, which was an honour to Wanganui. He iroved that tho thanks of the Boarct should be passed to the "Chronible. > The chairman's motion was carried- unanimously.

Veterans are requested to meet at the Drill Hall at onejo^clock to-day to take part in the Coronation oelebrations.
