NELSON TOURNAMENT.

NELSON, September 4. • There v^-s fine weather for the fourhh day of the Ladies' Hockey Tournament. The main feature of the day's proceedings AA ras the unexpected defeat of Hawke's Bay (the champion team) by Wairarapa.
Wanganui defeated Taranaki by 3 goals to 2. The scorers for the winners Avere Misses Sutherland, Moove, and Perrett, Avhile Miss Winks scored both Taranaki's goals.
Wellington A l;eat Westport 2 and 1, the scorers being Misses Keilin^ton and Mclntoshj and Loubere respectively- ■ Otago beat Greymouth by 3 to nil. Goals were netted by Misses Sped Sir.g, Foster, and Brown.
Nehon gained c, victory over Auckland by 1 to nil, afiar an .exciting game —Mi.ss Hair being the goal getter. The Wairarapa-HaAvke's Bay match would have ended in a draw but for an apparently # certain score for HawWs Bay being spoiled by the hat of a too prominent spectator. Waiyam pa won by 2 goals, scored by Misses Z. Humphries and Easton, to 1 (Miss CroAvley).
