Tho death of Allen Hill, the wellknown Yorkshire professional cricketer, is announced by a London cable.
Mr A. E. Bullock, of Messrs Bullock and Currie, is at present seriously indisposed, having had to undergo an operation on Tuesday night. His many friends will hope to hear of his speedy recovery.
It is with regret Are have to announce the .death of Mr.John Frame Mcßeth, who passed away at his residence, Duria Hill, yesterday.,, Deceased, who was horn in Wellington, was- educated afc
private schools, there being no public schools in those early days. He entered the postal service in 1804, and was connected with it till some three or four years ago, when >He resigned, after a long and ho'i.ourable official career. In 1867 Mr Mcßoth was appointed Postmaster at Greymouth, a position ho held till 1,878, whei he was transferred to Wana:imu, whci-3 he held th© postmastership for about twenty years. He was' then transferred to Christchurch, where h-9 was Chi of Postmaster till he retired some three years ago, since when he resided at Wanganui. Mr Mcßethi was highly^ respected by all avlio .knew him, and the news of his death, though not unexpected, Avill be received with much regret.
