MEETING OF CREDITORS.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 15. The adjourned meeting of creditors in-th'O estate of Walter" F. Darby, merchant, of Auckland, was held this afternoon in the Chamber of Commerce Buildings, the Official Assignee (Mr E. Gerard) presiding. About 40 creditors attended.- Claims by creditors total about £13,300. The Assignee holds out hopo of a dividend of 6s 8d in the £— perhaps a little more. , At the previous meeting in May, Mr Burton had stated tliat the father "of Darby had advanced £1000 hard cash to his brother, nowbankrupt, and tVi:it, having, regard' to this, an investigation should be made into the balance-sheets signed by Mr Siericker, which represented the business in a different light to what had since appeared. Since, that meeting an investigation into the affairs of the estate has been made by Mr A. E. Warnock, Public Accountant, -whose report was submitted to to-day's meeting. The Assigueo stated that he would submit the documents presented to the Crown Solicitor.
