The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—
We hold our usual fortnightly salo to-day. We are pleased to report lrgher prices for wool and skins, the advance on fleece wool and sheepskins being from Id to per lb. Crutchings were firm at last sales prices. Hides in sympathy with Australian markets, were lower by id to £d.par'lb. but calfskins were in keen demand at £d advance on late rates. We quote : Wool Coarse crossbred 6^d to 7 Ad, crossbred inferior and seedy 4|d to 6d, lambs, medium -6'£d to 7^d, crutchings, good 5d to s|d, seedy and inferior 3jd to 4^d, locks and pieces 2^d to 3id. Shwp'kins—Crossbred, fine 7d to 7^d, coarse 6d to 7d, lamb skins 6^d to 7£d, dead and faulty skins 3d to s|d. damaged pelts Id to 3d. good pelt« 3^d to 3|d, salted and damp skins 2s 9d to 63 5d '■•rf-h.
Hides.—Ox. medium s^d to Gjd rer lb. oow and lisrht ox 5d to 5?-d. faulty hides 2isd to 4£cl. calf sound 7£d to 9d, damaged 4d to 7d. Tallow, in tins 21s 9d por cwt. Horsehair to Is 6d per lb.
