A YOUNG MAN DROWNED.
SUPPOSED SUICIDE
AUCKLAND, June 18. Edward Dillon, aged 18 years, has I)e9n drowned in the harbour. The circumstances of the case seem to point to the fact that the young fellow,-who is described by his foster father as being "peculiar," took his own life in, a fit of passion after having a quarrel with his guardians. Young Dillon was the adopted son of P. E. Dillon, of Ponsonby. The latter states that the last time he saw the boy was shortly after 7 o'clock last night. The boy and Mrs Dillon disagreed < over something, and young Dillon went out on to the verandah. , Mr Dillon followed him out to try and pacify him, but he was deaf to all advances. To all entreaties to come inside the house the boy answered No, never! " He then ran away down the street.- A pair of slippers he was wearing were found about 50 yards down the street. .This morning the body of the boy was found floating in the harbour.
