The news that the Hon. W. P. Reeves has become a director of the National Bank naturally recalls the time when, in his younger and more impetuous days, he cherished Socialistic ideals,, and was looked upon as a somewhat dangerous person by those who owned property which might be attacked by legislation. (remarks the Christchurcb. "Press")- Like many others who were fervent Radicals in the days of their youth, Mr Reeves, with increasing years and experience, has greatly moderated his views! During his occupancy of the post of High Commissioner for New Zealand he has acquired considerable knowledge of, finance and of the practical working of the commercial world. The news of his appointment will give pleasure to a number of his friends, and we feel sure that the National Bank of New Zealand may be congratulated on a valuable accession to I its Board of Directors. ./ ; -": / ;: ":
