WEDDING.

GIBBONS—BARTON. ' A wedding in which a considerable amount of interest was manifested was* celebrated at St. John's Anglican Church yesterday afternoon, when Mr ] Alfred Barnes Gibbons, brewer, of Wanganui, was married to Miss Vida l Phyllis Barton, second daughter of Mr ] A. Barton, Clerk of the Court, Wan"ganui£ The church was' very prettily" . decorated. The Rev. J. A. Jacob was the officiating clergyman . The bride, who was given away by -her father, wore a handsome Empire gown of ivory chiffon taffeta, with a panel of embroidered net down the front of the skirt, net yoke, and sleeves, directoire sash finished with silver tassels. She also wore the customary veil and orange blossoms. The bride" was attended by her sister, -Miss Barton, and her cousin (Miss ' Fowler), who were attired in pretty Empire dresses of pale blue coiienne, relieved with blue velvet and silver tassels, and finished with directoire sashes. They carried crooks decorated with pink roses and asparagus, and wore pale blue Merry Widow hats of. pale pink on the under side, and trimmings of pale blue chiffon and brown roses, with* long pale bluo strings. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr T. Craig, while Mr P. C. Murray acted as groomsman. At the conclusion of the ceremony, which was witnessed ,by a large number of friends, the guests were entertained at.the residence of the bride's parents, where the usual toasts were honoured and the happy couple congratulated. The bride's going-away dress was a dark green tailor-made coat and skirt, with hat to match. We wish Mr and Mrs Gibbons a long and happy wedded life.
