As the meeting advanced light rain fe 1, accompan ed by a strong wind. The course was somewhat heavy. The totalisator investments! wore £11,538, as against £11,464 for the corresponding day last year. Book- - makers' fans- were £362^r.V;. First Hurdles.—Exmoor 1, Whatakura 2, Kairoma 3. Also started—Aorangi, Eurus, Paparaehi and Narcotic. Won easily by four lengths. Time, 3.19 1-5. Waiwehu Handicap.—Toa Tuhi 1, Martyrium 2, San Fernando 3. Time, 1.34. Also started—Maiora, Probability, First Mate, Whistlecraft, and Moscow. Won by a short neck. S lverstream Handicap.—M'ss Mischief 1, Vinco 2, Black Pearl 3. Also siart<?d—Wraiwareware and Togo. Time, 1.31. Led all the way and won by three •lengths. . , Thompson - Haijidicap.—-Aborig'ne 1, Consolation 2, Sir Tristram 3. Time, M 3. Also started—All-Ited, Master Soult, Fiitaway, Los Angelos, Czar Kololiol. Waipaku, Sunbonnet, Ballarat, Snndstream, Effort, Merrie Rose, Roosevelt, Aboriginal, Abferbrotbock, and Perolina. Wron all the way by two and a half lengths. North Island Challenge Stakes.— Provocation 1, Bobrikrff 2, Eiysian 3Time, 1.29. Also started—Taskmaster, Thistledown, Diabolo, and Maori King. Won easily by a length. . Plunket Nursery.—Xylophone 1, Nautiform 2. Kilwinning 3; Time, 1.3. Also started— Perle DOr, Boanerges, Glissade, Ainbala, Aema, Royalty, Mas-. terful/ftac?
