TRINITY WESLEYAN CHURCH.

WELCOME TO REV J. A. LUXFORD Tho weather last evening was exceedingly unpleasant, but the wet and •.murky night did not prevent the more venturesome members of Trinity Wesleyan Church from assembling to extend a very hearty welcome to their minister, the Rev J. A. Luxford. Tlio heavy rain kept a good many at home, but nevertheless there was a good attendance; including several members of tlio Aramoho congregation" and their newly-appointed minister, the Rev E. D. Patchett. The chair was occupied by Mr F. Webb Jones, and short spesches of welcome were delivered by Mr J. Ball (on behalf of the congregation, adherents, end office-bearers), and Mr John Jones (on behalf of the T. V.M.1.) Mr Luxford feelingly acknowledged tne cordial welcome extend d to himself and to h;s wife iind daughters, and in tho course of his brief address expressed the hope that, under the guidance of God and with tho sympathetic and hearty co-operation «f the people, young and old, his miirstry would bo crowned with success. The chairman, on behalf of Trinity Church, a'so conveyed a warm welcome to the Rev E. D. Patchett, who has just come to take i.ip his labours in the Aramoho circuit. !Mr Patchett expressed. his grateful thanks fo rthe kindly words of welcome and for their cordial endorsement by thoso present. Prior to the addresses a short concert programme was provided by the Misses Hooper (vocal duet) Miss Violet Jones, Mr Denton, Miss May Jones. Mr G. Hicks, Mr Prentice, and Miss Spurdie (songs), and Mr G. R. Martiner (recitation). The latter part of the evening was given up to social interoouiise, during which refreshments, provided by the ladies of the congregation, were dispensed. A very pleasant and enjoyable gathering was brought to a close by the singing of the Doxology. '
