PENGUIN AND GERTIE IN COLLISION.

t WELLINGTON, September 4. In Cook Strait yesterday afternoon off Jackson Head, the steamer Penguin, bound from Nelson to Picton, was struck by the coastal steamer Gertie on the port 6ide, and the belting of the Penguin was damaged. The Gertie apparently suffered:some injury. After a brief stop both vessels resumed their way. A report of , the accident has been 6ent to the Collector of Customs.
