Un the occasion of the Anglo-Welsh Wairarapa football match at Masterton, the plaintiff stated that he paid to go in to the grand stand and took a seat on which no notice of reservation was afhxed, and was forcibly removed by defendant. After retiring for two hours and thirty-five minutes the jury found:, (I) That plaintiff was not in such a state of drunkenness as .-would justify his. removal; (2) that seats were reserved in a reasonable wav and with reasonable notice..to plaintiff; (3) that defendant used unnecessary forca in removing plaintiff. They found for plaintiff with £5 damages.
NEW PLYMOUTH, August 29. Mr Fitzherbert, S.M., this morning dismissed the application by the Crown for a re-hearing of the charge against the of the Taranaki" Hotel, of permitting drunkenness on his premises. The case excited remarkable interest.
