STRONG REMARKS BY MR KETTLE.
(Per Press Association)
AUCKLAND, June 11. The state of the Police Court buildings led Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., to make remarks on the subject this morning Two womeiL, who had .been living in°a filthy condition in Durham Street, had just been removed from the Court when his Worship j^marked that they should get the place fumigated at least, once a week. "I am informed,'- he went on, " by a scientific man that this place simply swarms with all sorts...of germs. I once asked a gentleman to make an experiment, but he said he ■was afraid of the results, which would probably drive everyone from coming near."
