CONCERNING CRICKET.
To the Editor
Sir, —With reference to " Enquirer's " •letter'appearing in this morning's issue, I hope that the West Coast team to play the Melbourne Club on the 14th and 15th February will consist of 15 men. Whaib. chance have we against a team comprising such notable players as Armstrong, iLaver, McLeod, Ransfotfd, CVlailor, etc., and it seems to me that the only hope of giving them a decent game lies in batting 15 men. Besides the more men we have playing the more encouragement there is for the local talent to practise with a view of getting a place in a • first class match. In addition the 'public would no doubt take more in%©res;t in a match when there was a likelihood of the local men giving the visitors a close game. After all, the object of the match is to foster good cricket in iWanganui. Hence it is obvicais that the larger team would be preferable.—'l am, etc., L. G. SYKES.
