TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

NEW CLASSES

We understand that laundry work and home nursing are to be added to the curriculum of the school providing that sufficient students enrol. Teachers with very 'wide and practical experience in these subjects are available, so that the ojurse provided (see prospectus) will undoubtedly be in very capable hands,. We are d-alighted to see that the authorities are making an effort to train girls and young women in all subjects which pertain to the home. After the success which attended the cookery and dressmaking classes last year, we- feel confident that ■ the addition of the above new classes will be welcomed by the students* It is now possible for both town and country students to take their lessons during the afternoons from 2 to 5. Two courses (in addition to art) are provided—commercial and domestic. The latter course should be very popular, as in addition to the above new classes, the students will be admitted to the household management, cookery, dressmaking, and millinery classes. The commercial course will be suitable to all who intend taking up a business career, and will include, besides an extended course in English and arithmetic, shorthand, bookkeeping commercial correspondence, typing, penmanship, etc. A combined course may be substituted if desired. A limited number of free places (25) in each of these courses is available, and early application should be made v as it is intended to keep the classes within reasonable limits in each subject. r Mr. Varney may be consulted any day during the coming Veek at the office, or will be pleased to give any information through the post to intending students. Particulars of new classes in designing., photography, and /elocution wOl be announced later.
