Per Press Association. MASTERTON, September 15 At tho Magistrate's Court to-day, beforo Mr. W. P. James, S.M., William Blissett was fined £10, and costs £2 25., for killing deer without a license on the Puruatangr. breeding reserve. Defendant asked for time to pay, and an order was mado for £2 a month, the first payment to bo mado forthwith. In default, r. distress warrant will be taken out.
Hugh Rea, for keeping his business promises open on tho statutory halfholiday, was fined 405., and costs 7s.
GISBORNE, September 15. At tho Magistrate's Court Joseph John Martin, licensee of tho Royal Hotel, was fined £5 and costs for exposing liquor for salo during prohibited hours, tho conviction to bo endorsed upon his license. He was also fined £o and costs for obstructing the police. DUNEDIN. September 15. Patrick Keogh, who was a prominent member of tho Native Football team which toured the colony and England, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment this morning for wife beating.
