PATEA-WANGANUI CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
Tho usual monthly meeting of the Patea-Wanganui Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. PRESENT.—Messrs. W. Ritchie (chairman), R. K. Simpson, D. Ross, T. B. Williams, W. Van Asch, D. Fraser. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs Bridge, Smith, Duncan, Neiison, and Gibbon*.
MINUTES— The minutes of the previom meeting wer3 read and confirmed. BANK BOOK.—The Bank book was laid on tho table, and showed a credit balanco of £797 ss. 3d.
MEDICAL REPORT.—The medical officer (Dr. A. J. Crawford) reported that thero had been considerable sickness at the Jubilee Home during the month, "but- that thero were no serious cases. INVALID'S CHAIR,—The matter oi procuring an invalid's chair for the Jubilee Home was referred to the Chairman and secretary to deal with.
ACCOUNTS.—Accounts amountingtc £155 6s. were passed for payment. Tho meeting then adjourned.
MAINTENANCE.—A communication was received from the police relative to tho niaintehanco of an illegitimate child.—Resolved, that the Board recogniso no liability.
WANGANUI HOSPITAL BOARD
Tho usual monthly meeting of the Wanganui Hospital Board was then held.
MINUTES.—The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
BANK BOOK—The Bank book was laid on tho table and showed a credit balance of £1220 11s. Id.
BOARD'S OFFICES—Mi\ S. Gibbons wrote asking the Board to hold over till next meeting his notice of motion ro site for Board's offices.— Granted.
DONATION.—A letter was received from Messrs. Fitzherbert and Marshall, enclosing cheque for £200 from Mr. Frank Moore, Kai Iwi 3 as a donation to the Board's funds.—lt was resolved, en the motion of Mr. Williams, that tho donation bo acknowledged, and that s\ letter be sent to Mr. Moore thanking him for his handsome donation.
MEDICAL REPORT. -The report of tho Houso Surgeon (Dr. Crawford) was read. The report showed that during tho month 100 patients were treated at tho Hospital, 45 wero discharged, 4 died, and 51 remained in the institution at the end of the month. There wero 4G new cases, of which 9 were accident casjs. There were three cases requiring surgical treatment under anaesthetics.
ACCOUNTS.—Accounts amounting tt £479 7s. were passed for payment.
