HOCKEY.

Tho fixtures for to-morrow will be played on tho Racecourse as usual in th<i following order:— 1.30, MaxVell v. East-own; Mr Scott. 2.35, St. Paul's v. 8.V.M.; Mr. Payne. 3.40, Wanganui v. T.Y.M.1.: Mr. j Dewdney. i (BY "OFFSIDE.") The reps, went out for practice yesterday, but only five were able to put in an appearance, viz., Coe, Armstrong, Cave, Strange, Rabone, the others finding it difficult to gat leave. However, their places were filled lay others, and. a good game was the result. Tho rep. team won by ono to nil, Coe asuisual doing, the scoring. Mr. Rowe referred. , *" It is to be hoped that the rep. team will get in. some good practice, as they will have some tough nuts to crack in Manawatu. However, I anticipate Wanganui will come off victorious, judging by the play of our team.

On Saturday tho following ladies will play for Wanganui against Maxsvelltown ladies, on the Racecourse, at 1.15 sharp: E. Cunningham, W. Griffiths, A. Tyennan, Q, Swan, J. Laird, L. Kiernan, E. Sharpe, B. Allen, E. Drew, M. Bassett, G. Jones; emergencies, ii. Beaumont, M. Kiernan. Tho third hockey match between the Girls' College and the Christchurch Choir Boys was played on the Racecourse yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a draw, each team scoring one goal. The game was fast from start to finish, both teams playing with great dash and combination. The first spell ended in favour of the Choir Boys, but tho ladies equalised matters in the second. The ladies' play all through was splendid, scarcely °a mistake being made by either the forwards or backs. The goalkeeper especially saved her side when in trouble. The CRoir Boys have a powerful set of backs. Their forwards wero rather weak, but with more practice they will prove equal to whatever occasion reouirea of them.
