A SUGGESTION.

(To the Editor.) . | n • —■"■ ay<* made a discovery scienti-' fically of some importance.- I will call it ■ the undulatory theory of prosperity," ( second only to Newton's famous discov-1 cry of the undulating form of light. I' ■hare not yet communicated it to the public, but hope to do so shortly, in one of tih<e leading scientific journals. The particular wave of prosperity which con- j ceras us at present, and which, was primarily the cause of my great accomplisli- ; ment, 13 now at its height at Palmerston, about 50 miles off. With the very nicest, mathematical accuracy we might be able to compute the exact period of time ', which it will take to reach out town. 1 but there afx) so many secondary eonsid-; orations,, counter-currents, etc., to be! n taken into aooou-nt, that the calculation' must necessarily be very imperfect. These with various subsidiary points, will be fully dealt with in my expository article, either in the "Scientific American,"' the "English Mechanic," the ■"Quarterly Review," or some other, to wfaich.
