STOCK REPORT

BADDELEY AND FORLONG

Baddeley, Forlong and Co. .report as follows :—iWe 'held our usual fortnightly stock sale in Wanganui and Waverley on the. 15t!h and 17th inst., respectively. At Wanganui we 'had a heavy yarding of both! sheep and cattle; more cattle coming forward than advertised. There was a good attendance of buyers, and we report lan increased demand for cattle, especially lS^monitihs steers, at a fair advance on last quotations. Sheep maintained former prices.

At Wayierley we had a good yarding 'but bidding was somewhat glow. We managed to quit most of the lines after the sail©.

We quote:—At Wtanganui: Cattle, mixed weaners 295, 15 to 18-months steers (poor) £2 4s, others £2 15s to £2 18s, 2>yeair steers £3 8s 6d, 3£ to 4 year bullocks £5 10s, heifers in calf £3 5s to £4 9s, dairy cows in calf £3^ifcp £5, cows and calves £3 12 to £4 15s, forward cows £3 7s to £3 17s 6d. Sheep: Fat ewes •19s Id, fat weiJhers 22s to 22s 6d. 4 and o^tootih wethers 19s 3d to 20s, 2-tooth wethiers 17s 4d, lewes in lamb (full mouth poor) 8s to 9s 3d, stud Lincoln ewes in Qamb 30s, lambs (poor) 9s. 3d, woolly 14s lid". Pigs: Weaners 2s 6d to 9s 6d, store pigs 10s 6d to 15s 6d, porkers 18s to'2S9, iigtofc 'baconers 45s 6d to 51s 6d. At Waverley.—Oa*tle: 18-months heifers £2 2s to £2 6s 6d, 2i-year heifers in calf £2 18s. 18-months to 2-year steers, £2 17s 6d, weaners 17s. Sheep: •lambs 14s sa, 14s 6d.
