OPERA HOUSE.
THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL CONCERT;
Those who visit the Opera House on Monday evening (17th inst.) may rely on a musical treat. Apart from the other items on the programme, itihe Garrison Band contributions will be worth more than the price of admission. Neithea* of the selections to be played has yet been lieard in Wanganui. The first ia that fine test selection "Heroic," which, the Band had in "rehearsal for the proposed visit to Ballarat. The second is a selection which, we feel sure, will become a general favourite. It is a plantation sketch, "In Ole Kentucky," the music of which was presented to the Band by Mr A. D. Willis, M.H.R., on his return from the Old Country. Tickets for the concert are going off like the proverbial hot cakes, and there is every indication thait there will be no necessity to open the ticket offices on t!h© eye of the concert. The box plan is on view at H. I. Jones and Son's.
