WANGANUI HOSPITAL BOARD.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Wanganui Hospital Board was then held, the same members feeing present.—Mr Eraser was granted leave of absence. Minutes.—The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Barak .Book.—The bank 'book, produced showed a balance of £592 14s sd.
New Member.—Mr S. Gibbons was appointed representative of the Marton ■Borough Council, vice Mr Jas. Richardeon, deceased.
Nurses' Railway Tickets.—ln reply to •the Board's request that concessions be granted to nurses when travelling on the railways, the Minister for Railways said he could not see his way to do so.—iMr Bridge moved, and it was resolved, that the Hospital Boards of the colony be informed of the Wanganui Board's correspondence and asked to join in again approaching the Government on the subject. Probationers' List.—lt was resolved that Miss 'Mattie 'Calders' name be placed on the probationers' list. _ Consolidating Acts.—A communication was received from the Department of Justice, intimating that the question of repealing and consolidating the Acts affecting th© Board was under consideration, and suggesting that the Board make such recommendations as at thought fit to bring before the Revision Committee. —The chairman was appointed to go into the matter and report at a future meeting Medical Report.—The medical report showed that during the imonth of February 33 patients were admitted' to the Hospital, 40 were discharged, and one death occurred. There were 11 accident oases, and 13 requiring, operative treatment.
Holidays.—Mr Bridge then moved the motion of which he had given notice, to the effect that they rescind the former resolution re holidays providing that the annual holidays foe increased to three weeks for all of the staff. This was carTied.—Mr Bridge then moved that the Matron and Sisters of the Hospital be granted three weeks and the probationers two- weeks' holiday .annually.—After some discussion the motion was enrred.
Rate.—lt wa.s resolved that a rate of 4s 8d in the £1000 be levied.
Taihane Cottage Hospital.—The Rev. P. W. Clarkson wrote asking the Board to hold over till next meeting the question of the erection of a cottage hospital at T,aiihape.—~ Agreed1 to. Accounts.—Accounts to the amount of £509 lls 4cl were ipaK&ed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
