TRYANNOUS ARBITRATION.
To the Editor
Si:r, —I think every human person must agree with "the.sentiments expressed in Mr. Gordon Foriong's letter in your issue of to-day. - There can be no other term feu- viio action of the Union in preventing an honest man from "providing against a rainy day" for his wife and -ohi!ldr<en tihan "brutal." That such legislation! shou'id exist in a civilitcd country is almost beyond conception, and proves how unfit to govern are the men who frame such inhuman laws. To condemn Russian: legislation after this would be absurd. A man's time is his 'money, and any.-law wjii^h prevents:a man from disposing of liisi time in a reafionab'K> way, to the best advantage, is tyrannical, arbitra-ry, and cruel. Talk about -your boasted free country, where docis freedom come in.—lam, etc.,
A; A. BROWNE.
