Gronn's carrying business from the Ist instant, and have secured .suitable offices in the Opera House building. Mr. Moore wili have change of the clerical department, white Mr. Kerse "supervises the carrying business. The gift sale inaugurated by the young ladies of the Missionary Union, held in St. Andrew's Hallil yesterday afternoon, was a great success, the 'hail being well filled with visitors. Afternoon tea was dispensed to the thirsty souTs who chose to .partake of it. Afterwards a visit to the stalls was made; presided over by the following ladies :— Mrs-'.' Gordon, Misses Claris, K. ' The conioerb in the evening was, as usual, a deofded success. The Chairman (Rev. Gordon) said that on account of other items no encores would be allowed, but the audience would not agree with him, and demanded encores when a particular song took on. The opening pianoforte solo was well rendered by Mass McBetih. iSocag^were contributed by Miss Hughes, Misses M. Hughes, .'Wait-kins, Gibbons (2), Mrs. Cutcli'ffe; pianoforte duet and beEis, Misies MoGrea.; songs also by Messrs. McGregor and. O'Donneil. The rest of the evening was taken up with gamas got. up by the ladies to pifeiaso'itie gent. folk. ■ . The Telephone Exchange is being added to eveiy week, the latest) being Mi*. Max Wy&ocki, .and Messrs. Moore and Kerse. It only requires a few more subscribers to obtain the Exchange open at alight till'a late hour.
