Brown Hokc, Foaled 1890, PHAETHON, Will be at the service of Breeders in the Wanganui and Marton districts. By Tienton (18), a son of Musket (3), out of the great mare Frailty, she being- & daughter of Goldsborough (13). His dam, Sapphire, by The Drummer (1), out of Amethyst by Ambrose (1), a son of the great Touchstone (14). Being got in Australia, and not raced owing to an accident, he being threequarter brother to Blue Fire, who won the Champagne and Challenge Stakes at Christchurch as a 2-year-old, afterwards winning the C.J.C. Derby and Oaks. Having been at the stud for a short time, has sired Lady Lilian and others. .Last season his stock won £2581. By the mighty Trenton, out of Sapphire, who has thrown many winners. He is a horse of commanding size and substance, stands 16.2, and measures 9 inches below the knee. Phaethon, the only son of Trenton in the colony, has been leased for the one season, so if breeders want the* services of such a highly bred horse they should make an early application, as he is limited to 50 mares _ at £5 5«. Will be at Fordell and Turakina on Mondays; Marton, at Mc[ndoe's Stable on Tuesday. The remainder of the week at Jefferson's Stables, Wanganui. Good padocking Is 6d. per week.
