FIREWORKS AT THE DELHI DURBAR.

The Coronation durbar at Delhi will be the occasion of one of the gieatest firework displays India has ever seen. Messrs C.

Brock and Co., the well-known Crystal Palace pyrotecnist*, have already sent out over 70 tons of firework materials. There will be displays at Delhi. Bomba- and Calcutta, besides others which will be given by the native princes. Thei Delhi display will includo striking novelties specially designed by Mr Brock. A feature will be portraits of tb£_Kii\jf and1 Queen, which Avill measure some 40ft. in diameter. There will also be portraits of the Viceroy and Lady Curzon, the Duke of Connaught, and many other notabilities. Great gas balloons with firework apparatus attached will be sent up. and when, they are thousands of feet high the fireworks will become ignited. It is calculated that the balloon fireworks will l;e seen over the surrounding country for a distance of 50 miles'. The Delhi display will cost, about £1500. and those at Calcutta and Bombay £1000 each.
