DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.
Mr. P. R. Dix, tlie well known vaudeville manager, was so satisfied witih the result of the recent tour of his No. 1 •company tihat he has decided to send another combination on the road. The new company, which is to appear at the Opera Howe on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, has recently been appearing for three weeks to crowded houses at the Theatre Eoyal, Wellington, and Mr. Dix considers this company one oi thet strongest tliat has ever appeared under his name. The bright, particular stews are, of course, Miss Lizzie Kirk and Air. Frank Leon. These two artists are just concluding a twelve months? engagement with Mr. Dix, and during1 that period they have proved to be .the two most successful artists ever imjxMed. Miss Kirk's slinging and dainty sfcyie t: ye won her admirers wherever she h.s appeared, while of Mi*. Leon's danci-ig the public never sseem to tii-e. Those rv«n\/reen, yet ever black, comedians, need no- introduction, and of Mr. James Har/er and Miss Madge Morris, comedy sketch (.''tists, it is only necessary to *»entioc that 'hey were the "shirt turn" of the original World's Entertainers Company. Miss Molly Bentley is a warm favourite everywhere, and Miss Pearl Lovell, a-charming i"ouwg c-erio, will make her first appearance here. Mr. - Tom Saunders, a clever comedian, contributes successfully toi the programme, and Mr. Charles Howard's ballads are another popular item. Owing to the com:pany being due to open a season on September 29, at the Opera House in Ohr-isitichurcbJ, the Wanganui season is limited to two nights, and the box pUan will be opened1 at H. I. Jones and Son's on Monday morning.
