HAWERA, September 12. At Stratford, on Friday, sth inst., we had a large yarding of. stock. Bidding for mostf lir.es was fairly brisk, resulting in a fair amount of business being done. Fa.t cows £5 10s to £6 15s, store cows £3 10s to £4 4s, 18-month steers £3 5s to £3 18s 6d. yearling steers £2 2s to. £3, mixed yearlings £1 16s to £2 17s 6d, cmoty heifers £3 8s 6d to £4 6s, heifers' in calf £4 to £5 ss, springing heifers £6 5s to £7 17a 6d, dairy cows £4 10s to £8. We held a .clearing sale on Tuesday, September 9th, on account of the executors of the late Thos. Scott.. Stock was in a backward condition, but realised satisfactory prices. Cows £4 to £6 12s 6d. heifers £3 7s 6d to £4 15s. 2-year ha'tf draughts £9 10s to £16 10s, vearlinps £5 5s to £8 12s 6d, Leicester ram hoggets £2 2a. ewe hoggets 28s. Leicester ewes and lambs 22». hoggets 6a 4d to 8s 4d, ewes and lambs 8s 9d. On Thursday, at Hawera, a good yarding of cattle were only moderately competed for.
